Beyond the Walls
2020 Year in review
Community // hope
At Beyond the Walls our goal is to revitalize community and restore hope. And in a year where hope was all but lost, the communities we serve needed it more than ever.
Though the challenges 2020 brought were certainly unprecedented - so too was the generosity and commitment of our donors, volunteers, and team.
In a year where we couldn't meet, travel, or provide any kind of "hands on" service we were able to...
Give $140k in emergency aid
Build 20 personal hygiene stations serving 1,000's
Fully fund a fresh water well in rural Chiquimula
Serve 65,400 meals & protect 500 families from hunger
Collect 750 pieces of soccer equipment for youth clinics
Raise $50k to honor Jack Timmerman & Calvin Verduga
In many ways 2020 looked completely different from years past. No Guatemala trips to work with PHA & G2G, no Grace House Guests partnership with Family Promise, a socially distant golf outing, and many many Zoom calls.
But in many ways it was more of the same. A network of friends and community members selflessly serving our neighbors in our own back yard and across the globe...
Potter's House Partnership
This year we supported staff salaries, education programs, and helped expand the PHA student computer lab. We also partnered to build 20 personal hygiene stations installed throughout Zone 3, Guatemala City.

G2G & OWC
Partnership
Through our partnership with Generation to Generation Network and One Way Community, we were able to provide 65,400 meals to over 500 families in Chimaltenango.

6th Annual Timmerman & Verduga Memorial Golf Classic
Even after shifting our spring outing to the fall we had our most successful event yet. We saw 100 attendees, 80 golfers, 60 sponsors/donors, and raised $53,537 to build on the legacies of Jack & Calvin.

Chiquimula
water well project
Though we couldn't expand on our Chiquimula mission in person this summer, thanks to Brian Cap and RBC we were able to raise over $80,000 to fund a clean water well. This well will provide safe, reliable, fresh drinking water to a community of 1,000's.

Soccer Equipment Drive
The Lantzman family of Livingston, NJ helped us collect over 750 pieces of soccer equipment for our youth clinics in Guatemala. Kai and Hunter decided to use their B’nai Mitzvah to benefit kids like them in Guatemala (where Kai was adopted from) with one of their favorite sports!

expanding our network
Our network of partners, donors, and volunteers is what makes all of this possible. This year we had support from local business and global corporations alike. Including Center Court Sports, 42 Growth Strategies, McDonald's and many others.
